This is a purely contractual/short-term assignment — not a regular government job. LRA will not be treated as a regular employee of ABMP.
2. Educational Qualification
Essential (All must be fulfilled):
- Graduate in Law (LLB) — including Integrated Degree Course in Law under 10+2+3+3 or 10+2+5 pattern
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks from a School/College/University/Institute recognised by the Bar Council of India for admission as Advocate or Attorney of an Indian Court
- Should have passed all examinations within the duration of the course (no backlogs/repeated attempts)
- Good knowledge of computers and common software such as MS Office
- Research and analytical skills — ability to retrieve information from legal databases like eSCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, CaseMine, etc.
Desirable (Preferred but not mandatory):
- 3 years of experience in judicial or legal work in Supreme Court, High Court, or any Tribunal/Court
Important Note: Candidates currently pursuing Post Graduate Degree in Law (LLM) or any other programme requiring compulsory attendance during the expected engagement period are NOT eligible.
3. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 35 Years
- Age calculated as on the last date of submission of application
- Candidate must be a citizen of India
4. Salary / Pay Scale
- Consolidated Remuneration: ₹65,000/- per month (Fixed)
- No other allowances or perks will be admissible
- No TA/DA for attending the interview
5. Contract Terms
- Initial contract: 1 year from date of joining
- Extendable by 1 year at a time (up to a total of 3 years) subject to satisfactory annual performance and concurrence of ABMP Members
- Contract will terminate earlier if regular faculty joins the same post or candidate reaches the maximum age
- If the LRA resigns within 1 year, 6 weeks' prior notice is required
- ABMP can discontinue the assignment before 1 year by giving 2 weeks' notice if performance is unsatisfactory
- LRA cannot practice as an Advocate in any Court/Tribunal during the assignment period
- LRA cannot take up any other employment (full-time or part-time) during the assignment
- After leaving the LRA role, the person cannot practice before the same Presiding Officer/Member for 3 years
6. Selection Process
- Applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Viva Voce (Oral Interview) at their own expense
- Selection committee will be constituted by Members nominated by the Hon'ble Presiding Officer
- Final list of selected candidates will be approved by the Hon'ble Presiding Officer
- A waiting list panel will also be maintained for future vacancies
7. Disqualifications
Candidates will be disqualified if:
- Currently engaged or appointed elsewhere on honorarium/payment basis
- Involved in any criminal case (pending or convicted) for moral turpitude
- Facing any disciplinary proceedings before Bar Council of India, State Bar Council, or any other authority
8. Key Responsibilities of LRA
- Reading case files, preparing case summaries, notes, and chronology of events
- Conducting legal research on facts and law on cases pending before ABMP
- Assist in preparation of judgments, corrections and editing
- Conduct library research and stay updated on Supreme Court, High Court, and ABMP rulings
- Attend court proceedings, take notes of arguments, and research citations
- Verify correctness of citations in final orders and maintain/organise case files
- Prepare research/academic papers, draft speeches, and assist in conferences
- Provide statistical reports and maintain books and research materials
- Perform any other work as directed by the Hon'ble Presiding Officer or Members

Important Notes
- This is a contractual assignment — not a regular government job. No claim for permanent employment can be made
- LRA cannot practice as an Advocate in any court or tribunal during the assignment
- LRA cannot take up any other job (full-time or part-time) during the assignment period
- The LRA must maintain strict confidentiality about all matters handled during the assignment
- LRA will be governed by the Indian Penal Code and Official Secrets Act, 1923
- LRA must follow the dress code as per Bar Council of India Rules (Chapter IV of Part VI)
- ABMP reserves the right to cancel, alter, or modify the vacancy circular without any prior notice
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Viva Voce interview
